Team Research at Unilever

25 Mar 2010

This week the ICCL has started a new research project with Unilever's R&D facilities in Vlaardingen on the role of team collaboration and information exchange in the development of innovative ideas.

Over the course of the next 2 years we will investigate how team collaboration and processes of information exchange influence the development of successful innovative ideas. The purpose of the research is multifold: We will identify effective strategies and patterns of collaboration for developing innovative ideas, we aim to understand how team members can enhance collaborative activities and the knowledge sharing network of the team, and we will identify beneficial patterns of information sharing that contribute positively to idea development.

We will use a qualitative multi-method approach to obtain the answers to our research questions, including interviews with team members and leaders, survey research, observational data and document analyses.

More information about the project can be obtained from Lameez Alexander, PhD student at the Rotterdam site of the Innovation Co-Creation Lab.
