Susannah Hares: New ICCL Programme Director in London

Susannah joined ICCL on December 1st, 2009 from Barclays where she was Associate Director - Global Community Investment - for 2 1/2 years.

Here she developed and managed various initiatives relating to Barclays role working with communities at the bottom of the pyramid. This included a £10million partnership with CARE and Plan International addressing access to financial services in ten developing countries. Prior to joining Barclays Susannah worked for the African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF), and African health NGO, for five years in a variety of roles, most recently as head of programme development. Susannah holds a BA(Hons) in Politics and Modern History and an MA(Econ) Political Development, both from the University of Manchester.

At the ICCL she is responsible for globally organising top-level workshops and forums with companies, universities and other organizations. A major initiative is on business model innovation at the base of the pyramid, including the management and promotion of a global online community.
